This first of its kind event will be held over three days, 10 -12 December 2024 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and will include practical field sessions, presentations and working sessions.
The venue is the Bab Al Qasr Hotel, Abu Dhabi and more information about special rates and booking accommodation will be provided later in the venue section of this website. The inaugural International Mangrove Conservation and Restoration Conference aims to help develop innovative solutions for mangrove restoration, promote science-based restoration and contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change.
Scientists and conservation/restoration professionals from government and non-government sectors working on mangrove and other coastal ecosystem conservation and restoration from around the world, interested in presenting their research, innovations, experiences in coastal restoration and learning about best practices, holistic restoration that accounts for habitat variety and connectivity, and achieving climate mitigation and adaptation through nature based-solutions.
Projects from the Arabian Peninsula are in particular invited to discuss common goals, practices and challenges with the aim of developing a regional knowledge network on coastal restoration best practice.
We are inviting prospective sponsors to contribute to the success of the Conference by supporting essential components, including special community side events and travel support for emerging scientists from around the world.
